Droplet is the 2nd installment within the Aspen Grace children’s park & sculpture garden. 

Standing at 10ft tall and 4ft deep droplet’s function is to be a reading nook, chill space, nature observation & meditation station.

On the surface, Its simple. A wooden box with a cutout. Made from locally sourced and milled Utah lumber. However It’s form holds deeper intrinsic concepts...

Droplet is equal parts masculine & feminine. The exterior structure is a strong rectangular monolith reaching up towards the sky, while the interior negative space is a warm curved womb. Together they make up a well balanced shiloutette exemplifying the visual, auditorial, and emotional beauty of the nature surrounding it. One, two, or even four people can fit inside at One time.   

Nestled in a pine, fur, and aspen forest Aspen grace Park is splayed by two ski runs, and intersected by a bike trail.  Droplet and other sculptures allow for an intentional, or accidental encounter with time spent in nature.

Standing 10ft tall the Iron Curtain is a sound sculpture build from an 80lb sheet of steel. It is the antithesis to the "Sonic Curtain" series, holding no etherial qualities but rather ruled by gravity, and dark in tonalities both visual, and auditorial. 
The Sound element is very powerful, rumbling gong like resonances, wobbles, echoed reverberations.  This will be a continued work in progress understanding all of its potentials.  

Update: In October 2018 we built 3 new Iron Curtains as a circular encompassing space. the Triplet as installed at Joshua Tree Music Festival is titled “Sound of Steel”

We took the original Iron Curtain a few miles up a wash on the eastern hills of landers and installed it permanently in a discrete canyon up a wash. It will be an experiment with time, the elements, and humanity, and what will destroy it first.

I was asked to create the centerpiece for Aether, a galamping hotel on top of a mountain in Eden, Utah. With limited materials to work with I decided to scavenge what existed... Rocks.  

I chose 5 rocks to represent the 5 elements, each necessary to keep the others in balance. the stones weigh between 100lbs, & 2 tons. 

I set them in place using a Vertical reach fork lift, with nothing holding them in place except for balance & gravity.

Originally titles "breathe" has been installed in 4 renditions. The latest "Sonic Tetra Curtain" is currently installed at the Institute of mentalphysics in Joshua Tree, CA. 

Dancing with the wind the sonic curtain allows us to see that which is invisible: The air.   and the spirits winds know it. They dance a beautiful dance knowing they can be seen.

Spanning 220ft of a lake This was as fun, as it gets.  8 man crew, 2 chainsaws, 15,000 lbs of timbers, and 4 days on the water. 

total headcount on the bridge at 1 time was 400 people.

A fun learning "curve" we created a massive Jig to bend together the 12 gluelam beams that are the entire truss structure for the pagoda.  18 sheets thick each beam is around 200lbs and about 14ft in total length.  The structure was fabricated & painted in Joshua Tree in the middle of August heat and installed onsite in September.

One of my all time favorite projects.
The Piper was a 16x12 floating kava kava hut.  We served cold brewed Kava root, kombucha, and floated around Woodward reservoir  for 4 days straight.  
One of the most glorious moments in building the ship was the last push on the build we cast off into the lake at 4 in the morning with all our materials, and tools on board, set anchor 1/4 mile off shore, and built till the sun came up all the while listening to great tunes on the record player.

beach installation I built in Puerto Escondido, Mexico in 2011. We burned it in a raging bond fire at the end of a week.

Totem was an art series I created in 2014 inspired by aboriginal alaskan art.  It used basic elements of symmetry, color, and layered shapes to create characters.

All the wood was reclaimed materials, and all the painted symmetry was done free hand with no measuring, or pre sketching.  

originally there was 12 pieces. They have mostly all been sold except for a few.

I had been making copper jewelry since 2010 but officially launched ELEVATE in 2013.  The line used hand cut copper stamped with messages of positivity.  

Copper is a semi-precious metal, and a super conductor of energy, so the message written on each piece is charged and put out into the ethos.
