The Golden Record Project

 The Golden Record Project is a Sonic Exploration thru existence.
A recreation of the human experience through sound.
A compilation of field recordings, historical interviews, fragmented sound bites, integral songs to the history of music, auditorial archives, and live instrumentation. all melded together into a primordial ooze of reverbs, delays, and all that is soberly psychedelic. Not unlike birth, death, or life its self.

If the original golden record shot into space was a “catalog” of the human existence, this would be the “feeling”.

We have recorded the 2nd annual attempt to compose such a feat this past October as 30+ people embarked on a 8 hour sonic journey all recorded into a mobile 30 channel recording studio. This winter we will be refining those 8 hours into two 1 hour compositions that we will print on the A & B side of 100 vinyl copies to release as art. We will also print 7 golden copies. As we continue to recreate this experience annually we will one day create the version that will feel complete. It will, with the help of Elon, be shot into the farthest reaches of the obis to one day be found by a future civilization preparing it for the journey to come. Not unlike the psilocybin fungi found by our primate ancestors in cow patties as they journeyed north thru Africa.

This is a beautiful, and important project and it is why it is a first stepping stone of our journey. We are acquiring a Vinyl cutting machine. (pictured below)

This is a simple task, but an impactful one. It is a test to see if this seedling is ready to sprout. It is also a beautiful homage to our heritage of auditory experiments.
We hold reverence and intention behind every move we make.
